Governance Overview

M.S. College of Arts, Science, Commerce & B.M.S., managed by the Habib Educational & Welfare Society (HEWS), is committed to fostering a culture of transparent, participative, and accountable governance. The College believes that effective governance is the foundation of academic excellence, institutional integrity, and sustainable growth. Through a well-defined administrative framework, the institution ensures that all decisions are made in accordance with the statutes and regulations of the University of Mumbai, the Government of Maharashtra, and the University Grants Commission (UGC).

The governance system is based on decentralization, shared responsibility, and active participation of all stakeholders, including the Governing Body, Principal, IQAC, Heads of Departments, faculty members, administrative staff, students, alumni, employers, and the local community. This collaborative approach promotes innovation, quality enhancement, and continuous institutional improvement while ensuring transparency in planning, implementation, and evaluation.

The Principal, supported by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), statutory committees, and various administrative and academic bodies, provides strategic leadership to achieve the institution’s vision and mission. Regular meetings, policy reviews, academic planning, financial accountability, and stakeholder feedback contribute to effective decision-making and continuous quality assurance.

The College follows a structured governance model that emphasizes ethical leadership, academic autonomy within the regulatory framework, efficient resource management, digital administration, and student-centric services. Institutional policies, strategic planning, and quality initiatives are regularly reviewed to meet evolving educational standards and the expectations of stakeholders.

M.S. College remains dedicated to creating an inclusive, equitable, and quality-driven academic environment where governance serves as a catalyst for excellence in teaching, learning, research, innovation, and community engagement.
