IIQA

Institutional Information for Quality Assessment (IIQA)

Overview

Institutional Information for Quality Assessment (IIQA) is the first stage of the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) accreditation process. It involves the submission of essential institutional information by a Higher Education Institution (HEI) to establish its eligibility for the accreditation process.

The IIQA serves as a preliminary screening mechanism, enabling NAAC to verify the institution’s credentials before the submission of the Self Study Report (SSR). Only after the successful approval of the IIQA can an institution proceed with the subsequent stages of NAAC assessment and accreditation.

Objectives of IIQA

The primary objectives of IIQA are to:

  • Verify the eligibility of the institution for NAAC Accreditation.
  • Authenticate the basic institutional information submitted by the Higher Education Institution.
  • Ensure compliance with the minimum eligibility criteria prescribed by NAAC.
  • Facilitate a transparent and systematic accreditation process.
  • Establish a foundation for the submission of the Self Study Report (SSR).

Information Included in IIQA

The IIQA submission generally includes the following institutional details:

  • Name and address of the institution
  • Year of establishment
  • Affiliation and recognition details
  • Accreditation status (if applicable)
  • Academic programmes offered
  • Student enrolment details
  • Faculty strength
  • Administrative and governance information
  • Contact details of the institution
  • Institutional profile and statutory approvals

Importance of IIQA

The IIQA is a significant milestone in the accreditation process as it confirms that the institution satisfies the essential eligibility requirements laid down by NAAC. It ensures that only qualified institutions proceed to the comprehensive quality assessment stage.

A successfully approved IIQA enables the institution to:

  • Submit the Self Study Report (SSR).
  • Participate in the NAAC assessment and accreditation process.
  • Demonstrate its commitment to quality assurance and continuous improvement.
  • Strengthen institutional transparency and accountability.
