IQAC COMMITTEE:
The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) has moved beyond being a simple record-keeping or compliance body — it now serves as the central steering body for implementing NEP 2020 reforms, managing institutional data readiness, and guiding the college through NAAC’s new binary and maturity-based accreditation frameworks.
The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) has shifted from a record-keeping compliance body to the central steering body for NEP 2020 implementation, governed by UGC/NAAC guidelines and University of Mumbai directives. Its mandate now spans data readiness for NAAC’s new binary/maturity-based accreditation system, public self-disclosure compliance, and grassroots enforcement of NEP structural reforms like ABC integration and FYUGP transition.
Rules & Regulations:
1) Structured multi-stakeholder composition — Chaired by the Principal, with 1–2 senior administrative officers, 3–8 senior faculty, 1 management representative, 1–2 external nominees (society/alumni/students), 1–2 industry/parent nominees, and a Coordinator/Director as Member Secretary.
2) Mandatory meeting frequency and quorum — The IQAC must meet at least once every quarter, with a quorum of two-thirds of total members; minutes, agendas, and Action Taken Reports (ATRs) must be signed and digitally retrievable.
3) NAAC’s binary accreditation shift — NAAC has moved away from cumulative GPA/CGPA grading to a Binary Accreditation (Accredited/Not Accredited) system alongside a Maturity-Based Graded Levels (MBGL) framework (Levels 1–5).
4) AQAR exemption and digital pivot — During the recent transitional cycle, NAAC exempted HEIs from mandatory traditional AQAR uploads, shifting focus toward data readiness for platforms like the Online Nexus of Digital Quality (ONOD).
5) Public self-disclosure validation — Under UGC Guidelines on Public Self-Disclosure, the IQAC must ensure the college publicly hosts data on infrastructure, programs, fees, and faculty details, acting as the primary validation agency.
6) ABC/DigiLocker integration mandate — The IQAC must ensure 100% student registration on the Academic Bank of Credits portal, coordinating with the examination cell to map and upload credits from regular, certificate, or online courses.
7) FYUGP and multiple entry/exit monitoring — The IQAC monitors delivery of Open Electives, Vocational Skill Courses, Ability Enhancement Courses, and Value Education Courses, and verifies the Multiple Entry/Exit system (Certificate after Year 1, Diploma after Year 2).
8) Institutional Development Plan (IDP) and audit cycle — The IQAC must formulate a 5–10 year Institutional Development Plan and institutionalize a periodic audit cycle: internal Academic & Administrative Audit → external audit by university-approved experts → findings placed before the CDC/Governing Body.
