About the Right to Information Act, 2005
The Right to Information (RTI) Act, 2005 was enacted by the Government of India to promote transparency and accountability in the functioning of public authorities. The Act empowers citizens to seek information from public authorities regarding their administration, decisions, and functioning.
M.S. College of Arts, Science, Commerce & B.M.S. is committed to maintaining transparency, accountability, and good governance in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and the guidelines of the University of Mumbai and other statutory authorities.
RTI Policy
The College shall provide information under the provisions of the Right to Information Act, 2005 wherever applicable. Requests for information shall be processed in accordance with the Act and applicable Government and University regulations.
Applicants are advised to ensure that their requests are submitted to the appropriate Public Information Officer (PIO) or competent authority as prescribed under the RTI Act.

The Right to Information Act, 2005 applies to public authorities as defined under Section 2(h) of the Act. If M.S. College is a private unaided institution, it may not itself be a public authority under the Act.
